Mollie and her 2003 litter

We have no litters expected at this time.

Bright Hawk Boxers is now requiring a $250 non refundable deposit to reserve a puppy. Deposit will only be refunded if the puppy passes away. Refunding the deposit, in whole or in part, is at the discretion of Bright Hawk Boxers.

Limited registration only given to the pet prospects. This means you can do everything with your pup except breed and show in the conformation show ring. You may do any discipline with your pup except conformation showing. This means that you can still show in agility, obedience, herding, tracking, etc. Papers will be withheld until spay/neuter receipt is given to Bright Hawk Boxers on the veterinarian's letter head.

Performance and Service prospects are not subject to limited registration or spaying/neutering. Performance and Service prospects will go to working dog homes only. Contract required.
Show prospects are reserved for SHOW HOMES ONLY and will not be restricted to limited registration. Contract required. This means that you are not required to spay/neuter your Show prospect pup and may show in AKC approved conformation shows as well as any agility, obedience, herding or tracking, etc.

We spare no expense in terms of time or money in feeding our pups. From the first signs of heat until the pups are weaned (typically three months) we feed "Mom" this diet:

After whelping she is put on a liquid diet for the next forty-eight hours (or until she shows interest in solid food again) to replenish lost fluids, fat, and calories. This fluid diet is the same as the pups eat their first weeks of life (written below). The pups are fed from the moment that they are whelped with this mixture to supplement the milk they get from Mom:

-Whole milk mixed with raw eggs
(whites removed), Karo syrup,
and turkey and rice soft baby food.

With this diet we have butterball puppies that have no trouble expelling their waste, and our females have had only had slight hair loss during the pregnancy and whelping process.

Remember! Too much protein is a bad thing. Despite how they are marketed, Boxers are a medium breed dog and should not be fed large breed puppy food. A protein percentage of 21%-24% with a fat content of 14% or 15% is desirable. It is also recommended that your dog get one capsule of fish oil each day for skin and coat (and to bring up the fat content a little if you find the desired protein count but the food does not contain enough fat). We also give a general vitamin and mineral supplement to round out what the dog food does not offer. In the summer, on the days our dogs are working out in the Georgia heat, we also give them an electrolyte supplement.

We feed the Large Breed Adult Nutro Natural Choice: Lamb Meal and Rice Formula as it has the desired protein count. We like this food as it has no corn or wheat and is quite affordable. With a fish oil capsule, it has the right protein and fat content to support the moderate work our dogs are doing right now.

Delivery: Delivery by car is available. We will meet you or bring the pup directly to your home. A mileage fee of $0.485/mile applies on the trip to you. No cost for the return trip. Should the trip take more than one day, we charge a hotel fee. We can also ship by plane. Standard airline rates will apply.
